Musseques, the civilization of waste, African way 1976-1980
The Musseque is a construction of the man of the bush when he is confronted for the first time with the waste of the industrial civilization. He seize this new material, crush it, bent it and make his house as a work of art.
In Luanda the Musseques are mixed with the modern buildings. They are without color. As an artist, I have painted them as an interpretation of the abrasing sun.
