Biography
Renée Gagnon was born in Montreal, Canada.
Diploma in Painting, School of Fine Arts, Montréal.
School of the Louvre, Paris.
Studies at the Grande Chaumière with the painter Aujame.
1970 – takes up residence in Lisbon and developed screen printing techniques on large canvases.
1972/1974 – resides in Luanda, Angola were she began her studies on the construction of the Musseques (slums).
1975 – with a fellowship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation she developed this study.
Several publications on the subject of Musseques.
1986/1987 – fellow of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
Lives and work in Lisbon.
